This policy explains what information QuizTorch handles when you use this website, why we handle it, and the choices you have. In short: you don’t need an account, we don’t ask for your name or email to play, and the site is funded by advertising from Google.

Information we handle

Game data

To remember your progress, we set one cookie containing a random identifier. On our server, that identifier is linked to your coin balance, quiz progress, scores and basic game statistics. This data isn’t linked to your name or email address, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting servers may automatically record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use these only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Information collected by advertising partners

Google and its partners may collect information through cookies and similar technologies when ads are shown. This is explained below.

Advertising and cookies

This website uses Google AdSense to show ads, including display ads and full-screen ads between game screens. Please note the following:

Optional rewarded ads

Some buttons offer in-game coins for watching an ad. These are always optional and clearly labelled. We only learn whether the ad finished, so we can add your coins. Coins have no cash value and can’t be exchanged for money, goods or services.

Your consent and choices

• European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland: we ask for your consent before personalized ads and non-essential advertising cookies are used, through a consent message shown on your first visit. You can change your decision at any time using “Cookie choices” in the footer.
• Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you delete our game cookie, your coins and progress will be lost.
• Ad personalization: you can turn this off through the Ads Settings and aboutads.info links above. You’ll still see ads, but they’ll be less tailored to you.

Your privacy rights

Delete your game data now

This button immediately erases your coins, progress and statistics from our server and removes our game cookie from this browser. It can’t be undone. It doesn’t affect cookies set by Google or other vendors, which you can manage through the links above.

How long we keep information

• Game data: deleted about 30 days after your last visit, or immediately if you use the button above.
• Server logs: kept for as long as our hosting setup retains them for security and maintenance.
• Emails: kept for as long as needed to deal with your message.
• Advertising cookies: controlled by Google and its partners. See Google’s cookie information.

Sharing and international transfers

We don’t sell your information for money. We share it only with service providers who help run the site, such as our hosting company; with Google and its partners for advertising, as described above; and where the law requires it. These providers may process data in other countries, which may have different data protection rules from yours.

Security

We use measures such as encrypted connections and protected session cookies to safeguard information. No website can guarantee complete security, but we don’t ask for sensitive information and we don’t store passwords or payment details.

Children

QuizTorch is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you are under 18, please check with a parent or guardian before using this site. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email [contact email: set in config.php] and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Ads and links may take you to other websites, which have their own privacy policies. We aren’t responsible for how they handle your information.
